Description
This is the visible beam on my new toy: A 5mW 532nm DPSS (Diode-Pumped Solid State) Green Laser Pointer. 
This shot was taken on an especially foggy night so the beam would show up nicely on camera; however, even in perfectly clear air the beam is blatantly visible. The dot is visible up to two miles away under the right conditions, and the beam can be seen almost as far. You can even point at stars with it!
